Flatt's Village

When Dev and I climbed the cathedral stairs a couple of weeks ago, we met some tourists, map in hand and 2 days to explore who asked "where should we go?"  A lot of the areas in Bermuda are a bit of a hike from the bus path, or smaller areas that the time it takes to explore might be a disappointment to a couple with time constraints and tied to bus schedules.  We agreed that they should get off the bus at Flatt's Village as one of their stops on the way to St. George's.

Flatt's Village is one of those beautiful spots, where the shallow waters display turquoise blues and big fish in its transparent waters, an idyllic spot where boats peacefully rock slowly on the calm waters, where you can get a nice sunset picture, and be one of the people who sits on the dock with a fishing rod or a smile on your face as the sun sets  There are a couple of restaurants nearby and of course the aquarium.

Over the years I have gone to Flatt's on several occassions to take in the view.  It is the spot you pass on the way to the airport that makes your heart yearn to return to Bermuda.  So I think I will do a bit of a photo blog today and just show a few pictures from previous years today.  There may be enough to make it a bit of a "Flatt's Week"

Clear waters around the dock attract a few leisurely guys with fishing poles

At high and low tide, water rushes in or out of the inlet under the bridge

Flatt's Village by night was brighter than the glow worms

A nice gathering spot to enjoy and evening

Just down the road at Manor House (a vacation rental) they have this cool building with a bridge over the main road.
